Castlevania Season 3 Trailer Opens The Doors To Hell

The Castlevania season 3 trailer is finally here and we are so here for it! The critically acclaimed original Netflix Anime series has been teasing its third season for months, and the wait will soon be over. Releasing on March 5 on Netflix, Castlevania season 3 looks wild and expands its world beyond it’s single town and handful of characters.

At The Beginning Of Netflix’s Castlevania Anime Series

The Castlevania series’ story began when the Church murdered the legendary Dracula’s human wife. Devastated and in his thirst for revenge, the immortal vampire unleashed hell on Earth to rid the world of humanity. The show spent a lot of time developing Dracula as the sympathetic character, only to turn him into the ruthless villain later on. However, when faced with evil in the world, good will rose to stand against it. Three heroes stepped up to stop Dracula. One was a disgraced monster hunter from a noble family, who has to reclaim his legacy. The other a peaceful monk from a tribe of sorcerers, who joins the fight for her people. Along with Dracula’s own half-human son, who wanted to prevent his father’s violent grief destroying his mother’s people.

Warning: Castlevania Season 2 Spoilers to follow!

The very short season 1 saw the world in chaos as the heroes rise up. Season 2 continued the story and added more episodes. The world of vampires grew beyond what we thought we knew. The threats and dangers went beyond just Dracula. The hierarchy of villains became complicated. Season 2 ended with Dracula’s defeat, but that didn’t return peace to Earth. Despite Dracula’s death, his monsters still walked the lands. And with his Vampire kingdom in ruins, there was now a power-vacuum in the Vampire leadership. While his son Alucard hoped to reclaim his parent’s legacy towards good, the hunter Trevor and sorceress Sypha went to deal with the monsters.

Castlevania Season 3 Deals With More Threats Than Just Monsters

In season 2, Carmilla came along as an ambitious vampire who planned to overthrow Dracula before his defeat. She retreated to her kingdom, no doubt planning to fill the void left by Dracula. The Castlevania season 3 trailer shows that she has more allies: newer characters seen in previously released images. Along with Carmilla, Isaac, previously loyal to Dracula, was building his own undead army of monsters at the end of season 2.

The Castlevania season 3 trailer shows Isaac taking an active hand in the destruction and chaos ravaging Earth after Dracula’s death. And then there’s Hector, the human who served Dracula, now a captive of Carmilla. She seems to be torturing or breaking Hector in the season 3 trailer, for reasons unknown. And these are only the villains that we know of so far. Season 3 may introduce newer threats and dangers for our heroes to fight against.

Castlevania Season 3 Will Focus On Broadening Its Horizon

The one thing that becomes clear from the Castlevania season 3 trailer, is that we’re no longer in Wallachia. The small town that was prominent in season 1. Season 2 expanded the setting but limited just a single country. The look of the season 3 trailer seems larger and broader in scope. There are more characters, different cultures, and strange places in the trailer alone.

The Castlevania Season 3 Trailer Is Action-Packed Excitement!

More than anything else, the Castlevania season 3 trailer delivers on all the promises, teases and anticipation that the makers have been building on for a while now. The trailer immediately sets the stage with monsters running unchecked in the lands. It also recaps how Dracula died at the hands of our heroes, reintroducing them in a cool way. We then move onto multiple montages of action-filled flurry of images that boggle the mind.

Some of the upgrades from the previous seasons are also pretty apparent. Most notably, Trevor Belmont has a shiny new outfit, as well as his old whip back. There is one cinematic sequence where Trevor is wielding both his traditional leather whip, along with the cooler Morning Star Vampire killer chain whip that he discovered in an earlier season. While the trailer didn’t feature too much of Alucard, he must have a significant role in season 3, being the strongest of the three heroes.

Main Plot Of Castlevania Season 3 Is Still A Mystery

The Castlevania season 3 trailer, while impressive and awesome, also does a great job of not revealing too much of the story. While we know what villains, threat and possible challenges await in season 3, the main storyline or conflict is a mystery. How these villains and threats will tie together in a new story that threatens humanity is still very much unknown. Which is a great way to build excitement, while not giving too much away.

We will find out when Castlevania season 3 premieres on Netflix on March 5.
