HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE VILLAGE PEOPLE

The first gay supergroup in poprock music released its first official album with its official  lineup, Macho Man, on February 27, 1978.  Their history is a little complicated: An earlier, eponymous EP was released in 1977, but it didn’t have the wild costumes or the full cast–even though it was written mostly by Jacques Morali, the French composer who conceived of this campy classic band.

Let’s celebrate with some covers of their songs! As you can see, they’re Kermit’s favorite band.
