Castlevania Season 4 Renewal Confirmed by Netflix

Castlevania season 4 renewal was confirmed by Netflix, and we can’t be happier! The next season announcement of the horror anime comes just weeks after the debut of Castlevania season 3. That last season of the Netflix original is one of the best of the series. So this season 4 announcement is welcome news, and not as much of a surprise as we might think. While Netflix rarely orders so many seasons of their live-actions originals, their original anime is a different matter entirely.

Castlevania Led Netflix’s Push Into Anime

Castlevania was the first original anime series that Netflix pushed, and it was a huge success. The series featured the tale of a tragic Dracula, who swore revenge on humanity after the death of his human wife. Love softened the Dracula we all knew. But the loss of that love turned him into the soulless vampire in most fictional depictions. Castlevania gives us three heroes from various backgrounds who take on Dracula and his legions of night monsters and creatures roaming the country. Then the world gets more interesting with new characters and politics in later seasons. Together, you have one of the most interesting anime currently on television.

Castlevania Season 4 Confirmation Was Quicker Than Other Seasons

Castlevania is such a beloved series, that fans tend to get a little anxious between its seasons. It also doesn’t help that the makers of Castlevania, Powerhouse Animation, tend to take their time. The animation studio known for Seis Manos became even more lauded thanks to Castlevania. Unlike other series and films, Castlevania’s trailers come only when the makers are ready. Even season 3 was teased for a long couple of months before fans saw anything or got any confirmations. Which means that fans usually have had to wait months for any news between seasons. So this Castlevania season 4 announcement coming so quickly after season 3 is a shocker. Fans were hoping there would be a season 4, but were worried they’d have to wait for confirmation.

Castlevania Season 4 Renewal Confirmed But No Release Date Yet

The Castlevania season 4 confirmation came via Twitter. The tweet included a brief video with a scene from season 3 that shows a mirror. The mirror in the show was given to Isaac by a merchant. It is meant to look into people and places across vast distances. This time, Netflix used the mirror to confirm that season 4 is coming soon. While there’s no release date, it’s safe to say that we won’t be getting Castlevania season 4 anytime this year. Possibly not until the latter half of 2021.

What To Expect From Castlevania Season 4

As I mentioned in my Castlevania season 3 review, there’s a lot of story that could be in the next season. Season 3 in many ways was another adventurous story of character development. All our heroes and villains (anti-heroes now?) went through a lot. The season 3 ending saw them develop, given their experiences. We won’t spoil it here, but we do in our review of the season. So check there if you’re all caught up. The biggest question is the fate of Alucard, and what path he will take now that he’s defining his own path. (Tell us your theories, too!)

We also wonder what will happen between Trevor and Sypha. Can they survive the dark twist in the ending of season 3? Also, how does Saint Germain and his Infinite Corridor fit into the future development of the story? Will we see the other incarnations of the Castlevania video game series in the anime? Finally fans are hoping to see Isaac redeemed, though he could go even deeper into his desire for revenge? These answers will have to wait until the release of Castlevania season 4.
