Lauren Cohan Returns as Maggie in The Walking Dead Season 10 Preview
When AMC's The Walking Dead announced that Lauren Cohan's Maggie was returning to the long-running series, speculation began about how she would be brought back. Of course, some at the show wanted us to believe that we wouldn't see her until at least the eleventh season. Thankfully, we know that they tend to (and we mean this with all the love in our heart) lie to us but it's for our own storyline good so it's okay. Exactly like they did this time, because Maggie is returning when the series' tenth season finale airs some time later this year.
Of course, why should we be wasting any more of your time when you can check out our first look at Maggie's return when AMC's The Walking Dead airs the tenth season finale. In the scene, we see that Carol's (Melissa McBride) letter made it to Maggie's eyes, and now we're really curious. Will Maggie be the one who turns the tide of the war aginst Beta (Ryan Hurst) and the Whisperers to our heroes side once and for all? Check out the clip below for some potential answers:
"The Walking Dead" Season 10 Reviews
We were impressed with how season opener "Lines We Crossed" was able to pick up the energy from last season, right out of the gate (check out our review here). Then we had Morton, Hurst, and Birch raising the bar even higher with "We Are the End of the World" (check out our review here), offering up some Whisperers backstory.
"Ghosts" elevated the paranoia as McBride continues delivering an award-winning performance (that review's here) – while "Silence the Whisperers" proved once again why it's "In Cudlitz, We Trust" (review here). "What It Always Is" had a now-free Negan beginning his redemption arc while Alpha raised the stakes against our survivors (review here). "Bonds" had Negan being tested, Carol and Daryl possibly making matters worse for the community by "picking up" a Whisperer, and Eugene reaching out and getting a response.
"Open Your Eyes" (review here) saw our theory about Siddiq (Avi Nash) completely, totally, and tragically put to rest. That brought us to midseason finale "The World Before" (reviewed here), as the drumbeats of war grew louder. After a mideason break, we learned that those drumbeats had turned into thunder, as "Squeeze" (review here) and "Stalker" (review here) turned up the heat on what was once a stealth "cold war" back-n-forth between Alpha and our heroes.
Then with "Morning Star" (review here), that heat caught literal fire and resulted in the entire direction of the war getting flipped on its end in "Walk With Us" (review here). What could top that, and cause a break in the action? That would be "What We Become" (review here), with Danai Gurira's final run as Michonne, or is it? "Look at the Flowers" brought the focus back to the frontlines as we learned more about the Negan/Carol team-up, witnessed Beta go even deeper off the deep end, watched Carol's final confrontation with "Alpha" and introduced to a very "smiley" series game-changer (review here).

Modern Warfare Free Weekend Event Crashes Servers on
The excitement around the new free-to-play Call of Duty game Warzone has yet to die down. To capitalize on a ton of players online, Activision added a Modern Warfare free weekend event to the Warzone menu. The move intended to promote the release of the game’s Season Three content coming next week. The good news is that a lot of people wanted to give it a try. The bad news is online servers for the game crashed for a good portion of Saturday due to traffic and bandwidth issues.
Why did the Modern Warfare Free Weekend Event Crash Servers?
If you haven’t hopped into the Modern Warfare free weekend event yet, you still have time. Access to the game runs through April 6, but to be honest, you didn’t miss much. Like a lot of people, I looked forward to trying it out again after not checking in since launch. Instead, I found the servers down and no quick response from Activision. They later returned on Saturday night, after plenty of people on social media wondering what was going on. Here’s the funny thing: the massive amounts of people logging on probably flatters Activision.
After launching their free battle royale game, the Call of Duty Warzone player count hit over 6 million in 24 hours. With so many games competing for the battle royale gaming crowd, it’s impressive to see Activision debut so strongly. The game mode is a hit, and my Call of Duty Warzone first impressions are largely positive. It’s no surprise then that all of those players would check out the Modern Warfare free weekend in hordes. Crashing the servers isn’t ideal, but as a game publisher, I’d feel good for seeing that much interest in my content.
Season Three Release Date
Modern Warfare Season Three launches April 8 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The season updates and changes will also come to Warzone, marking the game mode’s first seasonal change. Dataminers found content from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in the update as well as what might be Call of Duty 4’s Backlot map. A lot of people have fond memories of the Call of Duty games of the past and it’s smart to keep using them.
Did you try to get into the Modern Warfare free weekend event when things were down? If you played at some point, then let us know what you thought of the game! Thanks for reading Comic Years for all things gaming, comics, and pop culture.

MARVEL TEAM UP #126: Luke Cage/Son of Satan, Hulk/Spider-Man (1983)
Hm. They couldn’t even get a full fill-in story for this issue. Anyway, it’s a ho-hum tale that mixes the occult and street-level crime. No, it doesn’t work. Take the “heroes must fight” sequence that’s in nearly every issue of MTU. Daimon Hellstrom taking a punch from Luke Cage by “rolling” with it??? No. Just no.
I didn’t realize he stuck up three fingers before transforming to Son of Satan though. That’s kind of interesting.
The back up is a reprint of a color Sunday strip of Spider-Man vs. Hulk. It was Takenaka’s sole work for Marvel.
Creators: JM DeMatteis and Bob Hall (Cage/Satan), Jim Shooter and Tomoyuki Takenaka
Grade: D
